Houbara bustards

The houbara birds are on the brink of extinction but the UAE government is aiding a programme set up to breed houbaras, The facility is located in Morrocco and might extend to China and turkmenistan where houbaras existed in big numbers. The centre of Morrocco has determined plans for the future to release 15,000 birds per season. The facility is working hard to keep things controlled to breed healthy birds and then released them to the wild and also monitor them. "Birds that are destined to be used for breeding are trained to be familiar with humans, who must be in regular contact with the birds to complete the in vitro fertilisation process" good care is carried on the birds but some houbaras are kept away from human contact to promote wildlife behaviour.
